Website offers updates on ocean acidification

The Alaska Ocean Acidification Network has launched a new website with background information on ocean acidification, descriptions of monitoring projects, research on impacts to marine species and a list of experts in that field.

The network was formed to expand understanding of ocean acidification processes and consequences in Alaska, as well as potential adaptation and mitigation actions.

The network is the fourth such regional ocean acidification network in the nation and will help connect scientists and stakeholder communities, recommend regional priorities, share data and determine best practices for monitoring, noted officials with the Alaska Seafood Management Institute, who will be presented on the steering committee.
