Three vie for House District 32

Three candidates, all from Kodiak are vying for the legislative seat in House District 32 in the upcoming Nov. 8 general election.

They include Duncan Fields, who is unaffiliated with any political party, Democrat Brent Watkins, and incumbent Rep. Louise Stutes, R-Kodiak.

Stutes ran unopposed in the Republican primary on Aug. 16, garnering  842 votes, while Watkins, unopposed in the Democratic primary, had 413 votes, and Fields did not run in the primary.

Unofficial results of the August primary show that the overall turnout for voters in House District 32 was 12 percent of the registered voters.

EDITOR’S NOTE: An article in the Aug. 19 edition of The Cordova Times erred in saying that Stutes has no challengers in the general election.
