Law & Order: Sept. 2-8

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between9-2-16 thru 9-8-16. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of Law.

SEPTEMBER 2, Friday 

12:45 a.m. Caller reported that an individual was contacting them when they have a no contact order. Officer reviewed the evidence. Brandy Thorne, age 30, of Cordova AK was arrested for violating conditions of release. 2:55 p.m. Caller requested a medical transport from CCMC for the 13 mile airport. Ambulance responded and transported the patient to the airport.

SEPTEMBER 3, Saturday 

12:38 a.m. Caller reporting a noise complaint on a local establishment. Officer responded and spoke with responsible party. 8:37 p.m. Caller reported a possible drunk driver. Officer conducted a traffic stop and had the driver perform field sobriety tests. There was no further incident. 10:17 Caller reported that 2 individuals abandoned a vehicle in the city impound yard. The incident is under investigation.

SEPTEMBER 4, Sunday

12:05 a.m. Caller stated that their neighbor’s dog would not stop barking. Officer responded and contacted the owner and the dog was put inside. 3:53 a.m. Intoxicated caller reported having a gun pulled on them in the harbor. Said that they would come to the station to talk more later. 11:24 p.m. Caller requested an ambulance to transport a patient to the airport for a medivac flight. Ambulance responded and transported individual to the airport.

SEPTEMBER 5, Monday 

4:53 Caller reported a motor vehicle accident by their residence. There were no reported injuries. Officer responded and cited one driver for due care.

SEPTEMBER 6, Tuesday 

4:34 a.m. Caller reported that an intoxicated individual would not leave their residence. On arrival the officer was informed that the individual had left. 6:48 p.m. Caller reported a burglary of their residence. The incident is currently under investigation.

SEPTEMBER 7, Wednesday

12:21 a.m. Caller reported that there was loud music coming from a residence. Officer responded and spoke with owner who turned the music down. 3:37 a.m. Caller requested an officer patrol the hospital grounds for suspicious activity. Officer responded and patrolled the area and found everything to be fine. 9:36 a.m. Caller reported that an individual was breaking their no contact order with them. Officer responded to scene but was unable to make contact with the offender. 5:27 Caller reported that someone had ran over their flower pot and then told the witness to send them a bill. Officer responded and was given vehicle information. 6:56 Caller stated he received an anonymous tip that an individual was driving around under the influence of controlled substance. Officer responded and made contact with the individual and determined that they were fine and able to operate a vehicle.

SEPTEMBER 8, Thursday

12:14 a.m. Caller reported a noise complaint on a neighboring house. Officer responded and made contact with the occupants who were given a warning.

NOTES FROM CORDOVA DMV: 

DMV HOURS: Tuesday – Thurs from 8am to 3:30pm unless otherwise posted. Motorcycle testing is still available, weather permitting. DMV has moved to 602 Railroad Ave. Payments now accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations, citations.
