Gronholdt named to PSMFC

Sand Point resident Paul Gronholdt has been appointed to the Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission for a four-year term, replacing Eric Olson, who is also a former chairman of the North Pacific Fishery Management Council.

PSMFC, established by Congress in 1947, has as its primary goal to promote and support policies and actions to conserve, develop and manage fishery resources of Alaska, Oregon, Idaho, Washington and California.

Gronholdt was appointed to the PSMFC earlier in September and will participate in the commission’s annual meeting in Portland, OR, from Sept. 25-28, the Aleutians East Borough reported in its Fish News update of Sept. 21.
