Law & Order: Sept. 16-22

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between9-16-16 thru 9-22-16. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of Law.

SEPTEMBER 16, Friday

12:59 a.m. Caller reported a fire alarm at a local establishment, fire department responded and determined it was a false alarm as the responsible party was cooking and accidentally set off the alarm. 2:56 p.m. Caller reported a majority of his tools were stolen from his property. Incident is under investigation. 10:40 p.m. Caller reported his friend missing, he stated he walked out with light clothing and a bottle of booze. Officer responded and searched the woods and the surroundings, later checked in back at the caller’s residence and he was home safe.

SEPTEMBER 17, Saturday

1:49 p.m. Caller reported she was trying to return an individual’s dog and when she entered the residence she found the owner on the floor who shouted to get out and take the dog. Caller was concerned and officers responded to find the owner to be ok. 2:41 p.m. Individual reported his truck had been broken into and that several items were missing. Case under investigation. 5:31 p.m. Individual came into the station with a green and black youth size bike that she found. Bike was taken in for safe keeping. 9:07 p.m. Caller reported a black dog on main street. Dog was identified and owner was notified and came and pick up the dog.

SEPTEMBER 18, Sunday

8:00 a.m. Individual brought in a drone that was found out Power Creek. Item was taken in for safe keeping. 12:31 p.m. Caller reported an individual was yelling obscenities at her because she was unable to process his fish by the following morning. Officer responded and spoke with both parties and determined no crime had occurred. 3:03 p.m. Caller reported his neighbors were making soup out of burnt moose hide and the smell was coming through his window. Officer responded and spoke with the neighbors who were preparing the moose head only and not burning any hide. 5:21 p.m. Individual came into the station to report theft from his boat. Report was taken, case pending.

SEPTEMBER 19, Monday

12:04 a.m. Caller reported that there was a vehicle with its parking lights on parked at the airport. Officer found the vehicle and it was locked with no one around. 12:12 p.m. Caller reported that they were conducting a controlled burn at their residence. 2:32 p.m. Caller reported that they were going to have a controlled burn at their residence.

SEPTEMBER 20, Tuesday

6:04 a.m. Caller requested a medical transport from CCMC to the airport. Ambulance responded and provided transport. 10:50 a.m. Individual reported having items stolen from his house and fishing vessels. The incident is under investigation.

SEPTEMBER 21, Wednesday

8:43 a.m. Coast Guard reported an EPIRB going off in the harbor. Dispatch contacted the harbormaster and State Troopers who took over the incident. 2:30 p.m. Caller reported that an individual would not leave their residence when asked. Officers responded and removed the individual.

SEPTEMBER 22, Thursday

9:59 a.m. Caller requested help de-activating a fire alarm that has been going off all night. Fire Officer contacted the caller who had another person there already that was providing assistance. 12:25 p.m. individual reported that their rear window shattered while parked overnight and that items had been stolen. The incident is under investigation. 5:00p.m. Caller requested an ambulance for an individual that was having a seizure. Ambulance responded and the patient was transported to the hospital.  8:12 p.m. Caller requested an officer respond to their residence because of a civil dispute. Officer responded but both parties were already separated.

NOTES FROM CORDOVA DMV

DMV HOURS:  Tuesday – Thurs from 8am to 3:30pm unless otherwise posted.  Motorcycle testing is still available, weather permitting. DMV has moved to 602 Railroad Ave.  Payments now accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations, citations.
