Law & Order: Sept. 30-Oct. 6

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between 9-30-16 thru 10-6-16. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

SEPTEMBER 30, Friday: 

8:54 a.m. Caller requested an officer stand by while they inspected one of their apartments. Officer stood by and also checked the welfare of the tenant who refused to be taken to the hospital.

OCTOBER 1, Saturday: 

3:37 a.m. Caller reported an alarm sounding in the building they were in and wanted an officer to check it out. Officer later called for backup in clearing the building as he was able to hear a male voice thru one of the monitors. Officers cleared building and did not find anyone. 6:43 p.m. Caller requested an ambulance for a medical transport from the hospital to the airport. Ambulance responded and transported the patient.

OCTOBER 2, Sunday:

10:42p.m. Caller requested assistance in removing an individual from their residence. Officer responded and informed the individual that they were no longer allowed in the residence and provided the individual with transportation.

OCTOBER 3, Monday: 

6:20 a.m. Caller reported that a vehicle struck another vehicle while backing up. Officer responded and spoke with the owner of the vehicle that was hit who stated that it wasn’t a hit and run and that they spoke with the driver who backed into their vehicle. 9:21 a.m. Caller requested an officer stand by as they pick up items from a residence. Officer responded and stood by as the caller picked up their property.

OCTOBER 4, Tuesday: 

11:27 a.m. Caller requesting an ambulance for an elderly patient. Ambulance responded and transported the individual to CCMC. 2:09 p.m. Individual came to the station to report a theft. Individual spoke with an officer and filled out a citizen report form. The incident is under investigation.

OCTOBER 5, Wednesday:  

4:58 p.m. Caller reported that a neighbor was felling trees that are landing on their property. Officer spoke with caller who reported that the trees had been removed from property. 11:39 p.m. Caller reported that an elderly relative had collapsed but he is responsive and doesn’t want an ambulance. Officers responded to assess the situation and determined that there was no emergency.

OCTOBER 6, Thursday: 

12:31 a.m. Caller requested a welfare check on a friend. Officers responded and spoke to the individual. 11:35 Caller reported that someone had broken into their house overnight. Officer spoke with the caller and the incident is under investigation.

NOTES FROM CORDOVA DMV:

DMV HOURS:  Tuesday – Thurs from 8am to 3:30pm unless otherwise posted.  Motorcycle testing is still available, weather permitting. DMV has moved to 602 Railroad Ave. Payments now accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations, citations.
