For The Cordova Times
The crowning of Miss Iceworm takes place tonight at 7 p.m. at Cordova High School as a part of the annual Iceworm Festival, a tradition of recognizing our outstanding high school girls.
This year’s candidates were selected by their teachers, based on their excellence in school and their community engagement, hard work and character.
The Miss Iceworm Program provides financial scholarships as well as opportunities to develop personal and professional skills.
The winner of Miss Iceworm will represent Cordova at the Fur Rendezvous in Anchorage later in February, and will attend the Copper River Nouveau in June. She will also receive free products and services from Lures Salon and Spa.
Upon graduation, Miss Iceworm will receive a $2,500 scholarship, made possible by the generous donation of David and Bootslyn Roemhildt. Candidate portraits were provided by Bootslyn Roemhildt and Bree Mills.
Makeup was provided by Jamaeca Subido, of Lures Salon and Spa.
