NPRB photo contest open until Feb. 28

The North Pacific Research Board’s 11th annual photo contest is seeking entries through Feb. 28 on sea life, seascapes, coastal scenes and marine research within the waters of the North Pacific Ocean.

Professionals, amateurs, adults and youth are all welcome to submit photos from the Gulf of Alaska, Prince William Sound, Bering Sea/Aleutian Islands, Bering Strait or the Chukchi and Beaufort seas.

Of particular interest are subjects relating to NPRB’s research themes, including plankton, invertebrates, fishes, seabirds, and marine mammals, or images of people engaged in conducting research, diving, fishing, subsistence, and other activities.

Be sure to include the location and ate of the image in the photo caption.

NPRB is offering award up to $3,300 in cash prizes to tope finalists in adult and youth categories.
