Chugach Regional Resources Commission will host the 16th annual traditional foods workshop and memorial gathering at Change Point Church in Anchorage on March 23, to celebrate the culture of the Chugach People with friends and family.
There will be four sessions: hunt, fish, gather and grow.
During each session, speakers will provide useful information about traditional foods, traditional food programs and hunting regulations.
There will also be breakout sessions to talk story and capture thoughts, information and traditional knowledge about traditional foods.
Organizers said the workshop will bring people of the Chugach region together to focus on providing more meaningful involvement in the management, research and monitoring of the natural resources and environment upon which tribal members depend for their subsistence lifestyles.
