Law & Order

 

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between 519-17 thru 5-25-17. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

 

MAY 19, Friday:

1:04 a.m. Caller requested an ambulance for his friend who hit his head and needs stitches. Ambulance responded transporting the patient to CCMC. 10:18 p.m. Caller reported hearing gunshots. Officer responded to the location and spoke with other people in the area who reported they did not hear anything.

MAY 20, Saturday: 

2:12 a.m. Caller reported two men were fighting in an alley on First Street. Officer responded finding the men walking down First Street. They reported that they were play wrestling and everything was fine. 8:01 p.m. Caller reported a fire alarm at Ocean Beauty. Fire Officer responded finding they alarm to be false. 8:14 p.m. Caller reported someone sleeping in a vehicle behind First Street. Officer responded finding no crime being committed.

 

MAY 21, Sunday:

9:01 a.m. Caller reported a fire at Sunset View Apartments. Fire Department responded putting out the fire. 11:32 p.m. Caller requested assistance for lifting her mother off the floor. Ambulance responded lifting the callers mother.

 

MAY 22, Monday:

12:41 p.m. Caller reported someone was in her house when she was supposed to be alone. Alaska State Troopers responded finding the other person in the house was the landlord.

 

MAY 23, Tuesday: 

7:40 p.m. Caller reported a man camping in her driveway and wanted him to leave. Officer spoke with the camper and informed him to leave.

 

MAY 24, Wednesday: 

5:37 p.m. Caller requested an ambulance for abdominal pain. Ambulance responded transporting the patient to CCMC.

 

MAY 25, Thursday: 

1:35 p.m. Caller reported a man urinating in an alley. Officer responded and cited the person for Public Excretion.

 

NOTES FROM CORDOVA DMV:

DMV HOURS:  Tuesday – Thurs from 8am to 3:00pm unless otherwise posted.  Motorcycle testing is still available, weather permitting. DMV has moved to 602 Railroad Ave.  Payments now accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations, citations.
