Ridle will head Department of Administration

Leslie Ridle

Deputy commissioner Leslie Ridle has been appointed to serve as commissioner of the Alaska Department of Administration, filling the vacancy left when former committer Sheldon Fisher transitioned to the Department of Revenue.

Her appointment was announced on Oct. 6 by Gov. Bill Walker.

Ridle is a lifelong Alaskan who grew up in Doulas and Anchorage.

Her professional background includes teaching, plus government service in Anchorage, Washington D.C. and Juneau. As deputy commissioner of administration, Ridle oversaw the Divisions of Personnel and Labor Relations, General Services, Motor Vehicles, the Public Defender Agency, the Office of Public Advocacy and the Alaska Public Offices Commission.
