2019 Alaska Food Festival set for March 8-9

Presentation proposals for the 2019 Alaska Food Festival and Conference are being sought by the co-hosts, the Alaska Food Policy Council and the Alaska Farmers Market Association.

Those interested may submit a brief description of their presentation, activity, workshop or poster to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/X6XTVTK

The conference is set for March 8-9 in Homer.

The deadline for submissions is Oct. 31. Writers of accepted proposals will be notified by Nov. 30.

Proposal topics being sought include those that provide insight into the Alaska food system; provide time to participants to brainstorm how to apply the information in their own communities or businesses, and those that include a diverse group of urban and rural presenters, including established and emerging leaders, growers, youth, entrepreneurs, educators, project participants and community members, demonstrating collaboration across sectors.

The first day of this fourth semi-annual event will include a food systems conference with speakers on food security, production, business and community issues, with sessions placing an emphasis on farmers markets.
