Alaska Board of Fisheries officials have postponed the deadline for the 2020/2021 call for proposals to April 24 because of complications associated with the pandemic of the novel coronavirus, as the number of cases in the state is increasing.

The board is seeking regulatory proposals for changes in subsistence, personal use, sport, guided sport and commercial fishing regulations for Prince William Sound finfish and shellfish (including the Upper Copper and Upper Susitna rivers); Southeast and Yakutat finfish and shellfish, and all other shellfish statewide.

The board may also accept subsistence related proposals from other regions if they meet criteria identified in 5 AAC 96.916(a) of Alaska state statutes.

Proposals may be submitted online to boardoffisheries.adfg.alaska.gov, emailed to dfg.bof.comments@alaska.gov, faxed to 907-465-6094, or mailed to ADF&G, Boards Support Section, P.O. Box 115526, Juneau, AK 99811-5526.

Due to efforts to minimize the spread of COVID-19, people are asked to not hand deliver proposals to ADF&G offices. All proposals must be received by April 24 at the Boards Support Section office in Juneau. A postmark is not sufficient for timely receipt.

All proposals received by the deadline will be considered by the fisheries board during the October 2020 through March 2021 meeting schedule.
