New partners sought for Pollock promotion

A nonprofit association representing Alaska Pollock producers is seeking applicants for a fresh round of its program designed to heighten demand for wild Alaska Pollock, with emphasis on proposals to bring new product formulations to the market.

The Association of Genuine Alaska Pollock Producers aims to engage consumers with new ideas, innovations, influencers and recipes to raise their consciousness about wild Alaska Pollock and turn that try and buy attitude into a lasting habit, said Craig Morris, GAP chief executive officer.

All proposals are due to GAPP by Sept 4. Final funding announcements are to be made no later than Sept. 28. The competition is open to any organization in any country, and all product forms are to be considered, including fillets, surimi, roe, fishmeal or oil.

GAPP also plans a workshop on July 15 to provide advice and answer questions about how to craft a solid proposal. Register for the workshop at us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_uJedu7hWSY66s1Ipj3YsUw.
