The Cordova Times - South Peninsula seiners standing down on first opener

For the second year in a row, the South Alaska Peninsula fishing fleet has decided that seiners should stand down during the first salmon fishery opening this year, due to high chum-to-sockeye ratios, Aleutians East Borough officials said today.
