The Cordova Times - EPA says chemical toxics in Alaska up 20 percent

A total of 835 million pounds of toxic chemical releases were documented in Alaska in 2010, an increase of 20 percent, far higher than any of the other three states making up the Pacific Northwest, says the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
