The Nome Nanooks edged Cordova 44-38 in Saturday\'s championship game of the 30th Annual Cordova Tipoff Tournament here last weekend. Lead by tournament MVP Nathen Blandford\'s 13 points and strong rebounding, the Nanooks held a 19-14 halftime lead and were up 34-30 after three quarters. Five three-pointers by the Wolverines in the third stanza, two each from Will Roemhildt and Jacob Werner, plus one by Keith Nolan, kept CHS close. Both Nolan and Roemhildt missed the final minutes of the game after colliding while diving after a loose ball. Nome\'s Tyler Eide scored all eight of Nome\'s points in the last quarter. Werner led the Wolverines scoring with 12 points; Edward Labere was also in double digits, with 11.
