Al and I arrived in Cordova 40 years ago this month. He had just graduated from the University of Idaho with a degree in teaching. He attended a job fair looking to lure teachers to Alaska. We already had our hearts set on coming to this great state so he signed with the first school district which offered him a contract which happened to be Cordova. When Al signed on as a third grade teacher at Mt. Eccles, Alton Hall was the superintendent of schools and Bill Fairall was the principal at the grade school.
