Domestic Violence is a hidden problem in most communities, the reason is that those in abusive relationships tend to try and keep it from the people around them. For those who witness possible abuse they may feel as if it is a private matter and therefore they should not get involved. Sometimes the line between what one person considers abuse and what another person considers abuse can be very different. This is why it is important to understand the various forms of abuse such as emotional, physical, sexual and physical/psychological neglect and how you can be an active bystander to help stop Domestic Violence in your community. Here are some examples of what you might see in the community as the most common forms of abuse.
