The Native Village of Eyak, Alaska Marine Lines and the city of Cordova are hosting a free electronics recycling day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from April 23-30. “Paddington 2” will be shown for free from 6 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. on Friday, April 27 at Mt. Eccles Elementary School, hosted by the Cordova Coast Guard Spouse’s Association. They will be selling hot dogs, chips, drinks, popcorn and sweets at the concession table.
Cordova Cleanup Day is set for 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 28. Volunteers should pick up garbage bags and plastic gloves at the Cordova Cleanup table at the Cordova Center and also check the deployment map to see which areas need clean up. Hosted by the Cordova Arts & Pageants, “The Greatest Showman” will be shown at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, April 28 at North Star Theatre in the Cordova Center. Pizza will be available between shows as a piano fundraiser.
This play group is open for children from newborn to 4 years old and will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Mondays (throughout the school year) at the Masonic Lodge. The group focuses on exploring developmental issues and building on each child’s strengths through large-motor skills play, small-motor skills play, pretend play and sensory play.
