Linden O’Toole entertained Cordova kids during the Chamber of Commerce’s Fourth of July festivities, Monday, by using two fishing rods, twine and wind currents to blow gigantic bubbles. The children were fascinated watching the bubbles get larger, then floating away in the cool breeze.

Check out these high-flying kids getting’ some serious air during the gunnysack races, at Cordova’s Fourth of July Street Games. The street games were organized by Cordova’s Girl Scouts and as always, a truly wonderful time was had by nearly the entire community.

These tykes participated in the Fourth of July street games on Main Street, Monday. The Cordova Girl Scouts, (with a bit of assistance from their parents), organized foot races for kids of all ages. There were partner races, jelly-bean carrying contests, gunnysack races and various other competitions.

Cole Hanson and Jordan McKenzie are thrilled with their kelp box derby third-place victory Monday, during Cordova’s Fourth of July street games. It took the boys just a couple of days’ work to have it ready to rumble. Volunteer Kelley Weaverling, the man behind the golden glove awards, took up the call just days before the celebration took place, making sure the kelp box derby continued to be a part of the festivities.

These two patriotic fellows, Kaden Guerrero and Trent Dundas, sat curbside during the kelp box derby races, showing off their Fourth of July shades.

The Fuchsia Flash racer, driven by Torren, and accompanied by rider Vlad Isakina, made a bright, second-place finish on the Fourth of July, zooming right down the center of Main Street during the kelp box derby races.
