Celebrating Salmon with Fish and Song

Bristol Bay Native Corp. kicked off festivities for the first Alaska Wild Salmon Day in Anchorage on Aug. 10 with a midday event featuring 300 pounds of Bristol Bay sockeye salmon donated by Icicle Seafoods and Leader Creek Fisheries, pasta salads, salmon shaped cookies and music by Hobo Jim, Alaska’s official balladeer. Several hundred people showed up to celebrate and enjoy the free food and music.
