The U.S. Department of Agriculture has announced a $1.5 million purchase of frozen salmon fillets for about $7.15 a pound from Ocean Beauty Seafoods in Seattle.
The purchase was the winner among offers USDA received in response to a solicitation on June 30.
Deliveries are to be made from Oct. 1 through Dec. 31.
The fillets will be used in child nutrition and other related domestic food assistance programs in Nampa, ID, and Kansas City, MO.
