Law & Order: Sept. 23-29

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between 9-23-16 thru 9-29-16. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

SEPTEMBER 23, Friday

1:45 a.m. Officer observed a stray dog. Officer contacted the owner and was able to get a leash on it and brought it to the owner’s residence. 2:53 a.m. CCMC requested an officer find a patient’s spouse as they are causing a disturbance. Officer responded to the individual’s house but was unable to make contact with the spouse. 3:29 a.m. Caller reported a loud argument in the hallway and outside of an apartment complex. Officer responded to scene and separated arguing parties.

SEPTEMBER 24, Saturday

12:11 a.m. Caller reported loud music coming from a residence. Officer responded an advised homeowner to turn down the music. 11:33 a.m. Caller requested an ambulance for a family member, officer and ambulance crew responded and transported patient to the hospital. 11:52 a.m. Caller requested a welfare check done on a family member. Officer went to residence and was unable to make contact with the individual but was able to get the message to contact their family to the individual. 6:19 p.m. Caller reported oil coming down the street from a residence. Fire officer responded and found where the leak was coming from and left absorbent pads and a message about the leak to the owner.

SEPTEMBER 25, Sunday

SEPTEMBER 26, Monday

10:42 a.m. Caller reported damage to a private cabin. Officer responded and spoke with responsible party. The incident is under investigation. 12:22 p.m. Caller reported that there was signs of someone trying to break into their home. Officer responded to residence. The incident is under investigation. 5:44 p.m. Individual came to the station to speak with an officer about a civil dispute.

SEPTEMBER 27, Tuesday

9:22 a.m. Caller reporting that a minor had possibly been exposed to indecent material. Officer spoke with the caller and the incident is under investigation.

SEPTEMBER 28, Wednesday

2:00 a.m. Officer conducted a traffic stop on Council avenue. David Phillips, age 30, of Cordova AK was arrested for driving under the influence and misconduct involving a weapon in the 4th degree. 9:53 a.m. Caller reported finding drug paraphernalia. Officer responded and the incident is under investigation.

SEPTEMBER 29, Thursday

4:31 p.m. Dispatch received a call from an alarm company saying that a fire alarm had gone off. Officer and Fire department responded to but it was determined that the alarm was set off from someone cooking and that there was no emergency.

DMV HOURS: Tuesday – Thurs from 8am to 3:30pm unless otherwise posted. Motorcycle testing is still available, weather permitting. DMV has moved to 602 Railroad Ave. Payments now accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations, citations.
