@ Your Library: New books arriving at the library in time for fall

New books are arriving at the Cordova Public Library, and with the change in the seasons it’s the perfect time to stop in and stock up on some good reading for fall.

The two new adult non-fiction books are “The Perfect Horse,” the Daring U.S. Mission to Rescue the Priceless Stallions Kidnapped by the Nazis,” by Elizabeth Letts, and “Pilgrim’s Wilderness: A True Story of Faith and Madness on the Alaska Frontier,” by Tom Kizzia.

The seven new adult fiction books are “Die Like an Eagle,” a Meg Langslow Mystery,” by Donna Andrews; “Don’t Tell Me You’re Afraid,” by Giuseppe Catozzella, a fictionalized account of the tragically brief life of Somali runner Samia Yusuf Omar, who represented her country in the 2008 Olympic Games; “A Time of Torment,” a Charlie Parker Thriller, by John Connolly; “Borrowing Death,” a Charlotte Brody Mystery, by Cathy Pegau; “To the Bright Edge of the World,” a second novel by Eowyn Ivey, author of “The Snow Child”; “Curious Minds,” a Knight and Moon Novel, by Janet Evanovich; and “Razor Girl,” by Carl Hiaasen.

Six new selections for younger folks are “Sea Secrets: Tiny Clues to A Big Mystery,” by Mary Cerullo; “The Great Shark Escape,” by Jennifer Johnston; “Nibble’s Guide to Caring for Your Hamster,” a pet guide by award winner author Anita Ganeri; “Hopscotch Around the World,” by Mary Lankford; “The Alaska Mother Goose and Other North Country Nursery Rhymes,” by Shelley Gill, illustrated by Shannon Cartwright; and “Alphabeasts,” by Wallace Edwards.
