Bristol Bay drift gillnetter meeting set for Seattle

Harvesters in the Bristol Bay drift gillnet fleet will get an update on a branding pilot project and expansion designed by Rising Tide Communications in Anchorage on Nov. 18 at their fall member meeting at Pacific Marine Expo in Seattle.

Rising Tide’s promotion of Bristol Bay salmon in Wisconsin has already won the fish national publicity on national foodie shows.

Becky Martello, executive director of the Bristol Bay Regional Seafood Development Association, who wrote on indie public relations and marketing firm’s Facebook page that she found Rising Tide to be “professional, knowledgeable, wildly creative and easy to work with.”

BBRSDA members will also hear an economic report from Andy Wink of Juneau’s McDowell Group on the fall 2016 salmon market, and get an interpretation of Port Moller test fishery data from Greg Buck, of the Alaska Department of Fish and Game.

The BBRSDA board will hold its regular meeting at the Silver Cloud Hotel in Seattle on Nov. 15-16.
