Linnell named to Board of Game

Karen Linnell, executive director of the Copper River-Ahtna Inter-Tribal Resource Conservation District, has been appointed to the Alaska Board of Game,

“Linnell’s experience working with the Copper River basin has provided her with a deep understanding of the challenges and complexities in Alaska’s dual management system,” said Gov. Bill Walker, who announced her appointment Nov 9.

Walker said Linnell’s experience working on state, federal and tribal boards gives her a unique perspective on issues related to wildlife management.

Linnell, a resident of Glennallen, is a lifelong subsistence hunter and board member of Ahtna Inc, a regional Alaska Native corporation. She is also the chair of the Wrangell-St. Elias Subsistence Resource Commission, and has served on the Copper River Basin Fish and Game Advisory Committee for over eight years.
