Law & Order: Jan. 20-26

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between 1-20-17 thru 1-26-17. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

JANUARY 20, Friday: 

9:32 a.m. Caller reported they received a threatening call from an unknown person. Officers responded to the location finding the unknown callers to not be in Alaska. Case is under investigation. 12:41 p.m. Caller reported she backed into another vehicle with no injuries. Officer responded to the scene and issued a citation. 4:41 p.m. Caller reported the theft of his trail camera. Officer took statement and the case is under investigation. 11:26 p.m. Caller requested an officer to assist removing a woman who is being belligerent and would not leave anyone alone. Officer responded and when he arrived the woman was gone.

JANUARY 21, Saturday:

JANUARY 22, Sunday:

6:50 p.m. Caller requested an ambulance because she was having difficulty breathing. An ambulance responded and transported her to CCMC.

JANUARY 23, Monday: 

Nothing to report.

JANUARY 24, Tuesday: 

12:51 p.m. Officer assisted someone who slid off the road and needed help getting unstuck. 2:57 p.m. Caller requested a welfare check on his friend who seemed ill. Officer responded finding the callers friend having a seizure. An ambulance was dispatched and transported the patient to CCMC.

JANUARY 25, Wednesday: 

7:33 a.m. Caller requested an ambulance for her father who was not alert of his surroundings. An ambulance responded and transported the patient to CCMC. 10:44 p.m. Valdez Police Department called stating they have a 911 call from Cordova reporting a man firing a gun inside a residence. Officers responded to the scene. Tillman Atkins, age 53 of Cordova, AK was arrested for Misconduct Involving Weapons 2nd and 4th degree, Reckless Endangerment and Assault 4 Domestic Violence.

JANUARY 26, Thursday: 

7:40 a.m. Caller reported a vehicle has damaged windows on Spruce Street. Officer responded to the scene and spoke to the registered owner who is aware of the damage. 7:24 p.m. Jack Reilly Jr., age 38 of Cordova, AK was arrested for Violation of his Probation. 11:30 p.m. Caller reported he has been receiving prank calls from a phone number in Cordova. Officers were advised and the case is under investigation.

DMV HOURS:  Tuesday – Thurs from 8am to 3:30pm unless otherwise posted.  DMV has moved to 602 Railroad Ave.  Payments now accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations, citations.
