Rotha L. MacMaster

Rotha Louise MacMaster surrounded by her loving family, passed at home on March 2nd after a hard battle with cancer.  Rotha is survived by her husband Malcolm MacMaster, two children – daughter Nina (Louie) Alber: grandchildren Cassidy, Alannah, London, Marina, great granddaughter Leah – son Jerrett (Heather) MacMaster: grandchildren Melena, Tony, Luke, Blake, Avery.

Rotha was predeceased by her son Ronnie, who blessed her with grandchildren: Tristen, Demi, Cody, Logan, and Skyla, and great grandson Jaxson.

She is also survived by her sister Jennifer (Jug) Kompkoff, brothers Jim (Mary) Kreider, Wallace (Linda) Kreider, Irvin (Diane) Kreider, and predeceased sister Shirley (Bill) Reitzle.

Rotha was born in Ellensburg, Washington in 1946.  She grew up in Washington State then moved to Cordova, Alaska in 1970, where she met her husband, and raised her family.  In Cordova, she owned and operated MacMaster’s Garden Supply, and worked for Cordova School District. Rotha had a passion, and a gift for gardening.  Her talent was evident when viewing her beautiful gardens. Rotha’s world revolved around her children, and grandchildren spending many fun-filled hours following their various sporting events, and activities.

Rotha, and her husband Mac moved back to Washington from Alaska in 2001. They settled on South Whidbey to retire and be close to her sister Jennifer. Soon after, her daughter Nina and family moved to Whidbey Island too, splitting their time between Whidbey Island and Alaska, Commercial Fishing.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for June 17 in Freeland, Washington, for all family, and friends. Specifics will be announced online. In lieu of flowers, please donate to South Whidbey High School Athletic Fund.
