Richard (Dick) Larson passed away at his Fir Island, Washington, home on Friday April 14, 2017. He married May Wolden on Dec 27, 1950. He was a husband, a father of six, grandfather to 11 and great grandfather to nine. After high school, he enlisted and served in the United States Navy. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 147. Dick spent 50 years commercially fishing the waters in Alaska, many years with his family. The family built fishing boats together at their family home during the off season. He was known by friends and family as Goose. He was preceded in death by his son, George Larson, his mother and father, Lawrence and Gladys Larson, and his brother Bob. Richard is survived by his wife, May, children Jim (Vivian) Larson and their children Andrew and Kristina, David (Teresa) Larson and their children Amy, Megan and Luke, Linda (Dale) Johnson and their children Blake and Kelby, Susan (Henk) Kruithof and their children Hein and Rianne, Willard (Jennifer) Larson and their children Renee and Swen, and his brother Jack (Diane) Larson. En lieu of flowers, you may send donations to either Fir-Conway Lutheran Church, or the George A. Larson Search and Rescue Fund, care of the Conway Fire Department. The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 22, at 1 pm at the Fir-Conway Lutheran Church. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
