Law & Order: Sept. 22-28, 2017

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between 9-22-17 thru 9-28-17. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.               

SEPTEMBER 22, Friday:

10:34 Individual reported he is having issues with stray dogs. 12:56 p.m. Caller reported a vehicle swerving over the centerline. Officer responded finding the vehicle parked in a parking lot.

SEPTEMBER 23, Saturday:

8:14 a.m. Caller reported during the night their snack machine had been broken into. Officer responded and investigated the situation. 3:29 p.m. Caller reported a motor vehicle accident. Officer responded speaking to all parties. 5:46 p.m. Caller reported a strong smell of diesel fuel coming from Railroad Avenue. Fire officer responded finding the source of the fuel and cleaned up the scene. 10:36 p.m. Caller reported hearing gun shot or fireworks around 2-mile Copper River Highway. Officer responded finding people celebrating a birthday and shooting off fireworks. Officer asked they discontinue the action because they were in city limits.

SEPTEMBER 25, Monday:

1:23 p.m. Individual reported her vehicle had been hit by another vehicle. Officer responded and investigated the situation. 3:01 p.m. Caller reported an individual had barricaded themselves in the green house behind Cordova Community Medical Center. Officer and fire officer responded and had the subject leave upon request.

SEPTEMBER 26, Tuesday:

8:28 p.m. Caller reported an assault in progress on Second Street and Lake Avenue. Officer responded investigating the situation.

SEPTEMBER 27, Wednesday:

7:05 p.m. Caller requested an individual be trespassed from her property. Officers responded trespassing the individual.

SEPTEMBER 28, Thursday:

3:54 p.m. Caller requested the fire department to assist in lifting someone back into her wheelchair. Fire Department responded assisting the individual.

NOTES FROM CORDOVA DMV:

DMV HOURS: Tuesday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. unless otherwise posted. Motorcycle testing is still available, weather permitting. DMV has moved to 602 Railroad Ave. Payments now accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations and citations.
