A memorial service for Mayland Johnson is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 28 at the Little Chapel. Potluck following burial. The community is invited to come, eat food and share Mayland stories.

Ikumat dance group pizza fundraiser

The Cordova Ikumat Dance Group is holding a fundraiser featuring Papa Murphy’s Take ’N Bake Pizzas. There are 10 pizza varieties, family-sized for $25 each. Hidden Treasures buy, sell, swap, giveaway

The Hidden Treasures buy, sell, swap or giveaway sponsored by the Cordova Community Baptist Church is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Homeport. Thirteen free tables are available, call 907-424-7294 to reserve a table. All leftover items must be removed by 2:30 p.m. following the event.

Photography exhibition at Reluctant Fisherman

An exhibition of Cordova commercial fisherman and photographer Loren Banks’ recent work is on display in the dining room at the Reluctant Fisherman Inn’s heART wall through the end of the month. Banks is donating 25 percent of sales to the Cordova Arts program.

Quilters’ tea and auction

Cordova Northwind Quilters invite the public to attend their Annual Tea & Auction 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 5 at the Cordova Center. Enjoy an afternoon of tea and treats, as well as silent and live auctions. Proceeds from this event are used to support two four-year scholarships that the guild sponsors each year. Support the guild’s efforts to encourage post-secondary education for Cordova students.

Annual Membership Meeting and Turkey Shoot

The Cordova Trap and Gun Club is holding its annual meeting, barbecue and turkey shoot Sunday, Nov. 5 at the public shooting range on Sheridan Glacier Road. Clubhouse doors open at 11:30 a.m. All ages, members and non-members are welcome to attend. Food pantry services

The Little Chapel is administering Salvation Army extension food pantry services. People needing assistance can pick up food on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Little Chapel. In an emergency at other times, call the Little Chapel at 907-424-3629. Native Village of Eyak administers food distribution on behalf of the Food Bank of Alaska.
