Law & Order: Oct. 13-19, 2017

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between 10-13-17 thru 10-19-17. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.                    

OCTOBER 13, Friday:

12:55 a.m. Caller reported yelling coming from an individual’s residence. Officer responded and spoke to individuals finding all to be well. 10:30 a.m. Caller reported smelling fuel around someone’s residence. Fire Officer responded and laid down absorbent pads around a leaking fuel tank. Resident was advised to have someone fix the tank. 11:25 a.m. Caller requested an ambulance for his daughter who was having a seizure. Ambulance responded assisting the caller’s daughter. 5:55 p.m. Caller reported an oil sheen in the old harbor. Harbor Masters office was advised and sent personnel to investigate.

OCTOBER 14, Saturday:

6:42 a.m. Caller reported he had found a needle kit in a bathroom. Caller came to station and gave needles to dispatch. 11:09 a.m. Callers reported a male individual was having convulsions and didn’t know if he was conscious. Ambulance responded and transported the individual to the hospital. 12:19 p.m. Caller reported a fuel spill on the road and stated that there was another sheen down the road covering a portion of the road. Fire officer responded and found oil leak that was coming from a loader and that the owner was notified to inspect for leak. 1:48 p.m. Caller requested that an officer do a welfare check on someone for her because she was informed that he had missed a meeting. Officer responded and determined that the individual was okay.

OCTOBER 15, Sunday:

1:31 a.m. Caller reported an individual was at the bar drinking and knew that the person had legal conditions stating they couldn’t consume alcohol. Officer responded but did not locate the individual. 11:01 a.m. Caller reported a vehicle went off the road and the driver was out of the vehicle but wasn’t sure if the driver was hurt. Officer and fire department responded and ambulance transported the patient to the hospital. 1:15 p.m. Officer assisted a motorist with his vehicle.

OCTOBER 16, Monday:

1:05 p.m. Caller reported someone trashed the inside of his vehicle while parked at the harbor.

OCTOBER 17, Tuesday:

Nothing to report.

OCTOBER 18, Wednesday:

Nothing to report.

OCTOBER 19, Thursday:

8:17 a.m. Caller reported loose dog on Whitshed Rd. Officer responded. 3:33 p.m. Caller reported loose dog near Heney Trailer Court. Officer responded. 4:18 p.m. Fire alarm went off at Ocean Beauty Seafoods. Fire department responded and determined alarm to be false. 4:25 p.m. A water leak and a large sinkhole was reported on Jim Poor Ave and Breakwater. Water Department responded.

NOTES FROM CORDOVA DMV:

DMV HOURS: Tuesday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. unless otherwise posted. Motorcycle testing is still available, weather permitting. DMV has moved to 602 Railroad Ave.  Payments now accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations, citations.
