Law & Order: Nov. 24-30, 2017

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between 11-24-17 thru 11-30-17. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.                        

NOVEMBER 24, Friday:

3:46 p.m. Caller reported the water tank on Fifth Street was overflowing down onto Burton Trailer Court. Water Department responded fixing the situation. 4:02 p.m. Caller reported an aggressive person on his property. Individual left before officer arrived. Case is under investigation.

NOVEMBER 25, Saturday:

4:48 p.m. Caller reported a vehicle drove by Skaters Cabin and started spinning donuts and was giving the occupants of the cabin mean looks. Officer responded speaking to the occupants of the cabin. They reported nothing like that happened and they don’t know what the original caller was talking about.

NOVEMBER 27, Monday:

Nothing to report.

NOVEMBER 28, Tuesday:

8:03 p.m. Caller reported a suspicious vehicle driving slow on Copper River Highway. Officer was unable to locate vehicle.

NOVEMBER 29, Wednesday:

Nothing to report.

NOVEMBER 30, Thursday:

12:59 p.m. While on patrol officer assisted a motorist in need.

Notice 2 of 4:

On 9/20/2017, Cordova Police impounded an unmarked/unregistered boat trailer with seine net with no known owner at 100 First Street, Cordova, Alaska, as it was abandoned on private property. Unless within fifteen days after the date of the notice (8/28/17), either: (a) the vehicle is removed and stored in a lawful manner, or (b) a person with an interest in the vehicle requests a hearing under Section 10.54.060, the city may without further notice impound and dispose of the vehicle by sale, destruction or other disposition authorized by law.

NOTES FROM CORDOVA DMV:

DMV HOURS: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday unless otherwise posted. Motorcycle testing is still available, weather permitting. DMV has moved to 602 Railroad Ave. Payments now accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations and citations.
