ADEC funded for pesticide regulation programs

Federal authorities have awarded the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation $302,000 to support the agency’s pesticide regulatory programs.

The state agency conducts inspections, enforcement, training and monitoring for pesticide use throughout the state, and investigates possible pesticide misuse incidents.

ADEC also works to assure the competency of restricted use pesticides applicators through its certification and licensing program, trains pesticide applicators to ensure the public and the environment are safe from pesticide residues.
