Cordova Christmas tree is back

The Cordova’s community Christmas tree has been replaced and re-lit. Its predecessor tree succumbed to high winds, snapping in half and falling into First Street, shortly before 12:15 a.m. on Dec. 11. That storm registered wind gusts as high as 108 mph. “Through work of the Chamber, with lots of help from Cordova Electric Cooperative and others, the community Christmas tree has been replaced and relit! Hooray!” wrote Cathy (Long) Renfeldt, executive director of the Cordova Chamber of Commerce to The Cordova Times in an email Dec. 16.
