Letter to the Editor: Empty produce bins

Is anyone else as tired as I am of seeing empty produce bins in the grocery store almost every week?  Or brown and ragged produce when there is some?

Why does Alaska Airlines get to receive the Essential Air Service subsidy to serve rural Alaska communities, but not deliver the freight for which local businesses are paying to ship on the airline? These are questions I’ll be taking up with our Cordova Chamber of Commerce, with our legislative delegation, and with Alaska Airlines. Please join me in doing the same if you have the same frustration.

We were assured that retiring the combi-jet configuration would have no impact on freight service to our community, but that seems not to be the case.
