Election day in Cordova is March 6

Cordova’s regular election is set for March 6, in the Cordova Center.

Voting hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Community Room A.

Candidates are running for three-year terms on seat D and E on the Cordova City Council. Terms for incumbents Robert Beedle, seat D, and Anne Schaefer, seat E, will expire this month.

Beedle and Melina Meyer are running for council seat D, while Anne Schaefer and Gary Graham are vying for council seat E.

Two school board positions are open for three-year terms. Candidates include Bret Bradford, Dan Reum and Peter Hoepfner.

The Cordova Community Medical Center Authority Board also has two open seats for three-year terms. Candidates include Amanda Wiese, Dan Reum and Linnea Ronnegard.

All candidates answered questions about what they would do to ensure safety in the community. City Council candidates answered questions regarding the city’s annual budget, their ideas to encourage existing business to expand locally and their top priorities, should they be elected.

Those elected will begin their terms in March.
