School Board: Bret Bradford

Bret Bradford

Editor’s note: Cordova’s regular election is set for March 6, in the Cordova Center. Voting hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Community Room A. Two school board positions are open for three-year terms. Candidates include Bret Bradford, Dan Reum and Peter Hoepfner. The Cordova Times gave the same questions to all the candidates. These are their answers.

  1. How long have you resided in Cordova?

    • I have been in Cordova since July 2004.

  1. Why do you consider yourself to be the best candidate for the job?

    • I believe I am the best candidate for the job because I have two kids currently enrolled in the Cordova School District. I have served two terms on the board and am familiar with the district’s attributes and challenges. I am familiar with both state and municipal revenue challenges and how those challenges affect Cordova and the school district. I believe in Cordova’s kids and I want to help them to be successful in life after graduation.

  1. What would be your top priority as a school board member?

    • My top priority as a board member is student success. Success means different things to different people. I believe it one of the district’s jobs is to help our students achieve success individually.

  1. What would you do to make Cordova safer?

    • What would I do to make Cordova safer? Interesting question. I think one that thing that helps is to keep kids busy with school activities as well as extracurricular activities.
