CHS boys drop pair at SuValley

The SuValley Rams topped Cordova 53-43 and 43-29 in conference play at SuValley on March 2-3.

Cordova High School trailed 30-18 at halftime of the first game; and despite outscoring SuValley 25-23 in the second half, came up short.  The game was a battle of the Codys; Cody Sjostedt poured in 24 points for Cordova; Cody Morgan led SuValley with 19.

In Saturday’s rematch, CHS stayed with the Rams for a half, with the score tied 17-17 at intermission.  Cordova was down 31-25 after three periods, but could muster only 4 points in the last stanza.

Sjostedt again led CHS, this time with 8.  Blake Drover topped SuValley with 17.

Cordova finished the regular season with a 10-12 mark overall, and a 5-5 record in conference play.  They will likely enter a very balanced Interior Conference playoff in Nenana on March 8-10 seeded No. 3 or No. 4 in the six-team double-elimination tournament.
