Law & Order: Feb. 23-March 1

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between 2-23-18 thru 3-1-18. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

                        

FEBRUARY 23, Friday:

11:12 a.m. Caller reported a woman fell down the stairs outside the Post Office. Officer responded finding the woman had a friend had taken her to the hospital. 1:42 p.m. Caller reported his personal property in his yard had been gone through during the night. Officer responded investigating the situation.  

 

FEBRUARY 24, Saturday:

10:36 a.m. Caller reported an electrical and telephone box had been damaged. Officer responded along with CEC and CTC investigating the situation.

 

FEBRUARY 25, Sunday:

Nothing to report.

 

FEBRUARY 26, Monday:

10:34 a.m. Caller reported a motor vehicle accident at the harbor. Officer responded investigating the situation. 10:18 p.m. Caller reported an individual is driving drunk. Officer responded arresting Larry Hansen, age 55 of Cordova, was arrested for DUI.

 

FEBRUARY 27, Tuesday:

Nothing to report.

 

FEBRUARY 28, Wednesday:

9:57 a.m. Caller reported an individual is camping without a permit. Officer responded finding the individual left when the officer left. 11:28 a.m. Caller reported vandalism on a vehicle. Officer responded investigating the situation.

 

MARCH 1, Thursday:

10:45 a.m. Caller reported a vehicle was in a ditch at 10-mile Copper River Highway. Officer responded finding the situation under control and vehicle had preparations to be towed.

 

NOTES FROM CORDOVA DMV:

DMV HOURS: 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday – Thursday unless otherwise posted. Motorcycle testing is still available, weather permitting. DMV has moved to 602 Railroad Ave. Payments now accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations, citations.
