Ailing crewmember airlifted from vessel northwest of Cold Bay

A 59-year-old man reported to be suffering from inhalation of unknown chemicals was medevaced by the U.S. Coast Guard on March 30 from the F/V Golden Alaska 40 miles northwest of Cold Bay and transported to Cold Bay, where he was moved by LifeMed emergency aircraft to Anchorage for further care.

The Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak MH-65 Dophin helicopter crew received a request for help from Health Force Partners, and the medevac was recommended.

Since March 16, Coast Guard helicopter crews across Alaska have completed six maritime medevacs and five nom-maritime medevacs.
