Fish processors join China trade mission

Five seafood processors, including Copper River Seafoods, are part of a delegation of 26 businesses, led by Gov. Bill Walker, heading for China May 19-30, to promote increased business opportunities and investments.

Representatives of Golden Harvest Alaska Seafood, Icicle Seafoods, Kachemak Bay Seafoods and Trident Seafoods also have signed up for the trade mission, along with others engaged in tourism, transportation, investment and more.

Walker said the delegation’s mission is to empower Alaska businesses at home and abroad by reinforcing Alaska’s reputation for unique products and incredible experiences in the world’s largest consumer market. The delegation plans to meet with economic partners, engage with key decision makers, and meet potential customers, industry and government officials.

Bering Straits Native Corp., NANA Regional Corp. and Sealaska Corp. have signed on for the trip.

The delegation also includes A2A Railroad Development Corp., Alaska Pacific University, Alaska Skylar Travel, Alyeska Report & Hotel Alyeska, Anchorage Economic Development Corp., Bambino’s Baby Food, Borealis Basecamp, Chena Hot Springs Report Denali Visions 3000 (49th State Brewing Co.), Explore Fairbanks, Fairbanks Economic Development Corp., Matson, Mat-Su Borough, Mat-Su Economic Development Corp., PT Capital, LLC, RIM Architects & Design Trilogy Metals US Inc., and Visit Anchorage.
