Federal officials have extended until May 30 the deadline for comments on the proposed 2019 Beaufort Sea lease sale.
The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management’s 2019-2024 draft proposed program includes one proposed Outer Continental Shelf oil and gas lease sale in the Beaufort Sea in 2019.
The call for information and nominations, the first step in the pre-sale process, was originally announced on March 28 and published on March 30 in the Federal Register.
The call offers an opportunity for comment from both the industry’s interest in the proposed leasing area and from interested parties related to particular geological, environmental, biological, archaeological and socioeconomic conditions, use conflicts, or other information that could affect the potential leasing and development of specific areas.
