Cordova Field Day Weekend

The Cordova Amateur Radio Club presents “Cordova Field Day Weekend” from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 23 and Sunday, June 24 at the hospital parking lot. There will be free food and opportunities to learn about HAM and talk on a HAM radio.

Eyak Lake Cleanup Day

Help the Copper River Watershed Project clean up tires, pressure-treated wood, Styrofoam and anything harmful to salmon habitat during Eyak Lake Cleanup Day, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 30. Lunch and snacks will be provided.

Register for the 2018 Kelp Box Derby Race

Registration is now open for the 2018 Kelp Box Derby Race, held during the Cordova Old Time Downtown Fourth of July celebration. Racers of all ages can register at cordovachamber.com/driver. Build your own downhill racers and bring them to the celebration. All racers must have steering and brakes.

Summer Lunch Art Program

The Cordova Family Resource Center is offering a free Summer Lunch Art Program Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to noon for ages 2-7 and noon to 1 p.m. for ages 8-13. Join them at the CFRC/BIONIC Youth Center, on Main Street, for art projects and a bag lunch.

Summer night skeet and trap shoots

The Cordova Trap & Gun Club is adding summer night skeet and trap shoots again, Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Cordova Public Shooting Range clubhouse. Members and non-members of all skill levels welcome. Bring something for the grill or to share. Cancelations may occur due to extreme weather. Al-Anon in Cordova

Al-Anon for friends and family of alcoholics meets Monday nights at 7 p.m. at the Wellness Center (old DMV office). For more information, contact Katie at 907-965-5909.

Food pantry services

The Little Chapel is administering Salvation Army extension food pantry services. People needing assistance can pick up food on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Little Chapel. In an emergency at other times, call the Little Chapel at 907-424-3629. Native Village of Eyak administers food distribution on behalf of the Food Bank of Alaska.
