Wink joins BBRSDA as executive director

Fisheries economist and research analyst Andy Wink will join the Bristol Bay Regional Seafood Development Association on July 23 as its new executive director.

Wink has more than a decade of experience researching and analyzing Alaska’s seafood industry, as well as extensive knowledge of the entire supply chain.

BBRSDA officials said that his past work with the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute and other industry groups would benefit its mission and its membership.

In addition to seafood industry research, Wink has written economic impact studies on oil and gas projects in Africa, performed education/training program analysis, administered a large seafood marketing grant program for Alaska, conducted investment research for a $30 billion-plus fund, and contributed to local economic planning efforts.

Wink worked for the state of Alaska for seven years as a labor economist, seafood development specialist and investment officer. From 2010 through January 2018 he worked for McDowell Group, a Juneau-based research and consulting firm.
