Gary Graham has been appointed to fill a vacancy on the Cordova Community Medical Center Authority board of directors left when Amanda Wiese stepped down.
Wiese’s resignation came after her sister, Olivia Kelly, accepted joined CCMC in May as clinic nurse.
“There can’t be any family members of a board member working for the medical center,” said CCMC Authority Board Chair Kristin Carpenter.
Graham previously served on the CCMC board for six years starting in the late 1990s.
Graham has begun the tedious process of looking through manuals for the board and getting up to speed.
His appointment is to fill an unexpired term.
Per city code, the seat should be opened up for election in the next election cycle, which will be in March, 2019, Carpenter said.
