Law & Order: June 22-28

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between 6-22-18 thru 6-28-18. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.               

JUNE 22, Friday:

3:59 p.m. Caller requested an ambulance for an individual with back pain. Ambulance responded transporting the patient to CCMC.

JUNE 23, Saturday:

11:37 p.m. Caller reported hearing a man and woman shouting outside a residence. Officer responded finding children playing on the playground.

JUNE 24, Sunday:

2:02 a.m. Caller reported a fight at the Alaskan Bar. Officer responded speaking to all parties involved. Individuals did not want to press charges. 4:26 a.m. Caller reported finding a sleeping man on First Street. Officer and ambulance responded transporting the man to CCMC.

JUNE 25, Monday:

3:42 p.m. Caller reported his vessel ran out of power in Poe Bay by Whittier. USCG was contacted and assisted the individual. 8 p.m. Cordova Police Department received an alarm reporting an individual is out of compliance of his Conditions of Release. Officer responded arresting Calvin Nichols, age 21 of Cordova, for Violating Conditions of Release.

JUNE 26, Tuesday:

3:15 p.m. Caller reported his vehicle was stolen when he got back from fishing. Officer responded investigating the situation. Later in the evening caller came to the station with the vehicle stating he found it just right where he left it parked.

JUNE 27, Wednesday:

2:45 p.m. Cordova Police Department responded to a residence to investigate trespassing allegations. Geri Lyn Pirtle, age 48 of Cordova, was arrested for Violating Conditions of Release. The trespassing allegations are still under investigation. 8:07 p.m. Cordova Police Department received an alarm reporting an individual is out of compliance of his Conditions of Release. Officer responded arresting Calvin Nichols, age 21 of Cordova, for Violating Conditions of Release.

JUNE 28, Thursday:

11:33 a.m. Caller reported her father flung her into a closet and is acting weird. Officer responded arresting Charles McCracken, age 84 of Cordova, for Assault DV.   

NOTES FROM CORDOVA DMV:

DMV HOURS: 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday unless otherwise posted. Motorcycle testing is still available, weather permitting. DMV has moved to 602 Railroad Ave. Payments now accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations and citations.
