Letter to the editor: Thank you, Cordova

Tea and tales with Father Tom at the Catholic Church parsonage, just days before he left Cordova in early July 2018 after 16 marvelous years of service here. Dick Shellhorn photo

Living in Cordova for 16 years has been a blessing for me (Father Tom).

The mountains have been a sheer delight, hiking the trails, skiing and snowshoeing the meadows. Walking thru town, looking each other in the eye and smiling, crossing the street with the cars stopping and opening the door for each other at the shops.

I have learned to highly respect the fisher people and their boats fishing in all types of weather and just hanging in there!

To experience the children growing up from Reggiani’s Little League, Volleyball and Basketball learning to make their own decisions about life. Meeting the parents and their many beautiful babies was the greatest pleasure.

There is a lot of love in this town!!

Thank you Cordova, it was easy to be aware of God while living among you.
