Three days of fish, love and music begin Aug. 3

Folk rock singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile headlines a list of several dozen musical performers for Salmonfest 2018, which has finalized its lineup for the festival weekend at Ninilchik Aug. 3-5.

Others sharing the spotlight will include Michael Franti and Spearhead, Fruition, Front Country, Apache, Great American Taxi, Kristy Lee and Sue Foley. The complete agenda of performers for all three days on three stages is posted online at www.salmonfestalska.org, along with information on how to purchase tickets. Organizers do note that the performer schedule is subject to change at any time.

Daily children’s programs are included.

With several thousand people planning to attend this annual event, advance purchase of tickets is recommended.

The event brings together people from all over Alaska and far beyond to celebrate the importance of wild seafood fisheries and keeping their habitat healthy for future generations. Music, food, fish and love are the reoccurring themes of this family friendly event at the Kenai Peninsula Fairgrounds.

Salmonfest is supported by and benefits The Kachemak Bay Conservation Society, with support from Cook Inletkeeper and Musicians United to Protect Bristol Bay.
